After graduation festivities we did a whole lot of summer.
Here is a rundown of Summer 2024!
First up was UGA Freshman Orientation for Jordyn. Two days full of information plus Jordyn registered for her Fall classes. So exciting!
Bryce played in a soccer summer league with his coach and some of his club teammates. It was brutally hot and honestly quite miserable and I say that as the person who was watching the games. I don't know how the boys were doing it. We probably won't be doing a summer soccer league again! BUT Bryce played a lot of field, which isn't something he does often and even more exciting is he ended up scoring three goals!
We celebrated Father's Day. I forgot to take a photo of Bryce and Bryan. Jordyn was at the beach with her friends and Sydney was working in Dahlonega. It's hard to get our full crew together these days.
At the end of the month we celebrated Joey's birthday. I would make a comment about him being old, but I am older than him so I keep those jokes on the downlow these days.
Do you spy sydney in the background?
The day after Joey's birthday celebration we left for vacation! We set sail on the Independance of the Seas for a glorious 5 days. I had my kids trapped on a boat with me for 5 days and I loved every single second of it! We used the cruise to celebrate Jordyn's graduation AND Sydney's 21st birthday. Her 21st birthday happened while we were on the boat. Can't believe our oldest child is 21?!
We made a visit to Senior Frogs in Cozumel so the girls could get a drink. Yes, Jordyn too, since the drinking age in Mexico is 18.
We got back home from vacation on July 4th and Bryan was on a plane to California for 2.5 weeks on July 5th. The life of a beach volleyball coach! The only major thing that happened while Bryan was gone was Jordyn had her widsom teeth pulled. Bryce and I were really hoping she would do or say something funny, but after the surgery she was just super sleepy.
Bryan got home just in time for Bryce's 16th birthday! My baby is 16?! We had the family over to celebrate him and we also had a little party with his friends at Adventure Air.
Next up was the drivers test for Bryce, which he passed with a 92! Did you know that parents are in the car for the text and not an instructor? They put cameras in the car, called his phone, put it on speaker and then he had to follows instructions from there. The ENTIRE test took maybe 10 mins, but the driving part on the road took all of 2 to 3 minutes. I was shocked. Anyway, Bryce is a licensed driver and now that we have yet another driver we needed another car. Bryce took over driving Jordyn's car and we bought Jordyn a more reliable car to have at school. Y'all...our car insurance is insane!
Jordyn's new ride.
And here is a random photo of a rainbow that I took on July 25th.
To end our summer fun before school started (on August 1st), we took a family trip to Babyland General so the little girls could adopt their babydolls. My dad did this for my girls and now he wanted to do it for the little girls. Not sure if many people know this, but adopting the original soft-faced Cabbage Patch Dolls is not cheap so it was really generous of my dad to do this for all his granddaughters. Sydney lives near Babyland so she was able to join us for the day. Bryan and Bryce happily skipped this trip though.
We brought all the dolls so we could take a group photo with Pop. I'm holding my doll, Stephanie - the first of the crew. My mom is holding my grandmother's doll, which she named Jenny Pearl. Sydney's doll is Cece Honey. Jordyn has Kyndall Lynn. And the newbies, Emma Rose belongs to Ellie and Ariel Ashlynn belongs to June.
And that was a wrap on the summer of 2024. As usual, the summer went by WAY too fast.
