Over the last 2 weeks we started the next phase of our yard transformation. When we bought this house we knew the yard needed a very large amount of TLC. The first phase came about a week or so after we moved in. We had 14 trees cut down. This second phase was to have the yard scalped/graded and to lay new sod. We shrunk some of the islands on the side of the house and in front of the house. We ripped out bushes and a ton of ivy too. We plan on ripping out more stuff from the front islands and then replacing with new, but that will have to wait until the next phase in the spring.

With help from my mom and dad, Joey, Katie and our awesome neighbor Brian we they laid 11 pallets of sod on Saturday the 23rd. Jordyn had a morning game out in Suwanee and by the time we got back I was shocked at how much work they had gotten done. The past week Bryan was off for his fall break and we spent it watering the grass, trimming shrubbery and laying pine straw. We even took some of the left over sod and shrunk down an island we share with our neighbors.
Thank you to my parents, my brother and sis-in-law and neighbor Brian for helping us get the sod down. Without your help Bryan would have been laying sod for days! Plus he would have been much more sore than he was. Ha! We appreciate you all so much.
I took this picture this morning. The sod is growing in nicely and the pine straw helped give the yard that finished look. And notice the Uga's (freshly painted no less) have been set in their new spots. Can't have a finished yard without Uga!
