Keeping Up With The Joneses: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...SIX!!

Jordyn Brooke is SIX years old today.

SIX.

I'm not sure if I say this enough, but how do we get here so fast year after year? Each of these special days called birthdays just come faster and faster. It's driving this mommy crazy!! At times I feel like I can't soak up moments fast enough. Thank the good Lord for cameras and the thousands of pictures we have taken over the years. I broke out some of Jordyn's baby photos for her viewing pleasure at breakfast this morning, which she loved.

Miss Jordyn is usually a slow riser, but not today. She popped out of bed with a huge smile on her face. She was just waiting for me to say, "Happy birthday big six year old". She walked around the house all morning with the biggest smile on her face. Anything that came out of her mouth was followed by a giggle. I just love it. She was a bit confused as to why she didn't have any gifts waiting for her this morning. I told her she already had her birthday party so she opened all of her presents. That was not a good enough explanation because she wanted to know where her presents were from mommy and daddy. She's no dummy! I'm keeping her in suspense until tonight when we can all be together for the opening present fun. ;)

Since today is a full day of school, volleyball and soccer it will leave little time for birthday celebrations so we took her to birthday dinner last night at Dave & Buster's as requested. Actually she said she had 3 choices: McDonald's, Taco Bell or Dave & Buster's. The first 2 were not even considerations!

Once we get home from our busy Monday schedule we will bring out her birthday gifts...a few Rapunzel toys from the movie Tangled. Can I just tell you how happy it makes me that baby girl still loves dolls, dress up and stuffed animals. I am in no hurry for her to grow up!!
